Question Let's play... WHAT'S THAT NOISE?!!

ok... i was driving home one night a few weeks ago and the motor just cut out... no warning flares or anything, just stopped running and wouldn't restart, just hard thump as it tried to turn over. got it towed home. the next day started poking around, and it smells like fuel around the engine, i then see fuel seeping out of the manifold to downpipe joint!! yikes. Now i know a few cyl. are gas hydrolocked! i pulled the plugs and cyl 4 and 6 (middle 2 on pass side) just had fuel ooze out as i removed the plug. thinking then that it was faulty injectors ect... i pulled them and had them "rebuilt" by a local shop. wouldn't you know they were all at 85% so not too bad, but the almost new (8000 miles on it) pressure regulator was bad... so i got a new regulator... long story short, got it all back together and now i've got a random knocky noise... the truck idles fine, drives fine, just noisy! i would think a bent valve or rod or something internal would sound more repetetive and constant... this to me sounds like something in the manifold or exhaust... but holding long screwdriver against things for sound/vibrations i couldn't pinpoint anything...

so now i'm going to the experts... and lets play, what's that rover noise?? see youtube link below for video of noise

Hydro lock can be an engine killer, I agree it sounds like a rod bearing plus looks like it is running to smooth for valve train

Pull dipstick look for metal fleck to reflect in light

You may need to drop oil pan to inspect, look for discolored bearing cap

Bent push rods would likely give a valve tap

I would not run the engine much, just cause more damage plus metal in oil gets in other bearings etc.

I believe it would much faster if it were a rod, also does not sound solid enough for a rod has a hollow sound.

ok... this saga continues... i started her up to pull her into the garage to start dropping the oil pan and cats to see if i could further diagnos this knocking... started well, moved it around the driveway into a bay... shut her down... went to move a bit more for the lift arms to reach... and no start! i have fuel, spark, and compression... just not starting... any ideas??
