Lift Kit Shock Absorbers RESCUE PLEASE!!!
Well it appears that I broke the front passenger side shock absorber while using a ratchet wrench on the upper bolt located on the shock tower. Heard a loud noise and saw fluid spewing for the absorber! The upper portion of the shock dislocated itself from the lower portion. As a result one end of the shock is still stuck within the tower (I was able to remove the entire shock tower complete with the upper portion of the shock still attached) and the other end is still attached the the axle. I was able to remove the spring which in itself suffered no damage... So Before I continue working of the lift I need serious advice. I have every intention of saving the remaining shocks but I need to revise my procedure! Please help!!! Ill upload a short video clip in an hour of the situation.
On a second note... are these shocks repairable? Can they be screwed back together and filled with more fluid?

A shock shouldn't just break like that. Wrenching on the shock tower should have no impact on the shock itself. More details needed. The way it stands now though, I would return that shock. What kind was it?

Use some channel locks or pipe wrench to hold the shock body from turning while you loosten the nut. The shock is garbage since it pulled apart they are not rebuildable.
Also how mutch for the engine fan blade shipped to 17566?

Good luck!
Long hauls right. Channel locks will donthe job just fine. Might put some teeth marks in the shock body but they'll get the job done mad quick. Keep at it bro. Haha. You'll get a job with land rover by the time you're done with that thing
So are we seeing a lot of TF problems? Can they be isolated to one model of shock you think?
I found the other thread. Seems to me to be an isolated incident but should be watched.
