post some of yours if you get a chance too, im curious. But yeah, i should be getting the heat exchanger late tomorrow or friday morning, i'm also moving a few other things around too, trying some different stuff. I should be reloacting my axel breathers, but i just dont have enough time to start that project before i leave friday afternoon for rausch creek.

Rubber hose and hose clamps can handle pressures up to 300 psi no problem. I've seen many a dealer added a/c system on old 70's pickup trucks that just used hose clamps.

Go back and look at my picture. The hose barb is designed for use with a proprietary hose that the manufacturer states does not even need a hose clamp for pressures up to 300 PSI. I use the hose clamp for just that added insurance.

The hose barbs are not brazed, but silver soldered. FAR more expensive a process and suitable for brake fluid pressures-far more than we'll ever see in our engine oil, or trans oil..

Per both RAVE and ZF's manual, idle pressure is 100 PSI, @1500 RPM, 150 PSI.

Pressures can and will rise on engine speed increase, gear settings, locked torque converter, etc.

I stand corrected. That's really odd though, are the lines inline with the pump somehow? Seems like a big design flaw if so, most transmissions out there have super low line pressure.

That is not really odd. All automatics have the cooler "in line" with the pump, how else did you think the fluid was pushed through the cooler? Design flaw? You mean like the TH400 that had no means to regulate converter charge pressure, causing the converter body to "balloon" at high RPM and drive the crank forward until the engine would knock? Did you mean that type of design flaw?

Fluid pressure in the cooler circuit rises with throttle opening, just like it does in an engine.

So im posting because i promised i would and i need to eat crow. The stuff that i got from the hydraulic shop had to be overnighted from texas, but PT, you may be interested to find out that the fittings kind of already exist, they found these and just peeled away the outer cup to yield pretty much exactly what was needed.this is a male and a female together

if i had slowed down and not panicked about my friday afternoon deadline, i could have gotten complete replacement lines from PT (which would have fixed my leaking trans lines at the cromp connections) in time for less than what i paid. I got instead a similar fix, attached to a 65$ over night shipping charge from texas and an extra charge because the fittings and o-rings came in ten packs. Also, my replacement lines wereonly as long as the gap i had to bridge, as opposed to the total line replacement PT offers. Im bummed to say the least, but i did get out wheeling this weekend with the winch (that i did not use.....SIGH). But you live and you learn. this setup cost me 301$ and it was becaused i rushed when i didnt need to....my 550$ winch wasn't such a deal when i had to spend 300 dollars on 8" of fittings and rubber...FML
Someone please learn from my mistake. haha

What were the brand names of the winch and the winch bumper that you had such a fit fiasco with?

It was a warm xd9000i and and terrafirma bumper. But I won't blame them on the fit. I crashed the truck years ago in a snow fender bender and there is just no arguing that my front end is buggered. So I think the impact jacked my frame horns and that's what caused the bad alignment.

*warn. Also I would recommend calling Justin at lucky 8 or someone like that to confirm a fit before you try mating things like that togetbet
