lugnut frustration

Be aware that thread is speaking of D2's, and while the caps are the same size the thread is different. So most of the links will not work for D1's.
I can't believe that guy in that thread paid $133 for lug nuts!!!
I paid around $35 for 20 solid steel RRC nuts, but that was a smoking deal.
I do have 10 D1 nuts with the caps already removed I'll sell for $15 shipped.

Could Eric if I where inclined to do so. I read your post when fresh. Besides the aesthetics of the covers with aluminum wheels they do perform another function, they keep the sand, water and road salt out of the marine grade Neverseez my lugs are loaded with.......so a little tinkling down the home road is the only sound my Rover makes. It's ironic that I always notice it and comment to myself how chintzy, might as well be a Freelander.......
My first year of ownership I twisted my lug wrench into an art form, from then on I keep a 1/2" drive breaker bar with 4" extension and 27mm socket in the boot. It also doubles to finish off road kill that I almost avoided.

Not yet. It's just a matter of time though before another fall jerky donor finds my front end.......so I'll be replacing the swiss cheese light bar and tie the new bar and gussets into the bumper. It won't stop em but it won't fold up like a cheap lawn chair either. Who knows, I might make a sculpture out of it.
