Monday:Got loaded up still had some minor things to do(and some major)



Tuesday :
maddie wakes me up around 8 and has been at my house working on her buggy since 5

finish getting ready(kinda) and head to Moab

first stop was the DMV to renew her registration. I guess last time I registered the rover I signed something saying I'd bring proof of insurance and never did . So they wouldn't let her renew it with out insurance papers( don't have them yet and an email from insurance company isn't good enough ) blah blah

we decided to hope for the best and dodge uhp

Second stop parts store



Then we decided her first trail In her rig should be hells.

i rode my dirt bike in case we had issues with the buggy that was my first time with a bike on the rocks man it was a blast

quick run up hells gate ( I used her phone will get pics off it later)

then continued on.


We got to the big hot tub and there was a group of 14 jeeps and 1 bronco playing in the little tub.

1 keeper tried the big tub in his 4 door Jk .. Once down in he realized it was alot bigger than it looks a few very mild attempts and backed out



i told maddie to pull down in and see how it felt so she would be prepared to climb it Sunday

she pulled up on it.. Backed up a little and asked for the helmet .

pulled up and down a few times just getting used to it then rolled into it pretty good almost had it.


she scooted her seat forward and said okay now I've got more power here it goes



and she climbed up and we headed out with the big group skipping the rest of the claims except tip over challenge . Her and 2 or 3 of the jeeps climbed it mostly with out any troubles

Wednesday :
decided to check fluids,bolts , adjust alignment ect.

noticed that the upper wishbone mount on maddies rear axle was broken. The inner piece was just tacked making sure it was going to work there and we forgot and after the hot tub the little tacks were done

Got a new bolt and got it put back together.. Took some work




Then went across the road met Dan from ruff stuff and he let maddie use on of there welded to weld it back up, then I tried just to make sure, then a welder from ruff stuff showed us how a pro does it!



then off to potato salad, she went right up first try.

when she went to go for the second try we realized her radius arm was twisting binding the front u joint at the pinion.

more wrenching , then back to secret spot

 

Thursday:it's harder than it looksheaded out to area bfe decided to run greendayEnded up meeting up with a group from salt lake The 1uz runner made me excited to get my 1uz running in my samuraiWas pretty impressed when Dylan took his runner through hereMaddie made it through after him but I had to spot her so no picsAnother poser Dylan gave suicide hill some pretty serious thought he was getting awesome tractionMaddie pulled up on it gave a few attempts wasn't feeling it and didn't wanta break her rig so early in the trip(she's alot smarter than I am)Then while waiting some guys showed her the easy line around / through half the gate keeper at heldoWe headed over to lock jawCan never remember his name but I met him a few years ago with a group from Idaho

he was a great driver and really good at picking the right line for his rig







Got done and pulled over and took a little break then we heard Dallan (yotis on here) coming up lock jaw went and walked it with him and decided to do green day again






No issues decided to call it a day

 

her throttle stuck and she went off the trail ( and i have no way to edit that part out of the video since the guy who recorded it and posted it lives in michigan so i apologize )
