Man, that must be nice! In NY, rule of thumb is if over half the tire is exposed on the backside, have to have a flap. Luckily, I've known the guy who inspects my cars for close to 20yrs. That counts for alot on what can slide by and what can't. The only place you can't get any leway- they hook a computer to you OBD2 port, go through a complete run cycle, all the while live streaming with a state computer. If everything does not jive, automatic fail.

Of course, in PA, you can not have rust holes. Cover them with duct tape, you're ok. Otherwise, it's a fail.

Here anything goes.
As long as you have working head/tail lights and turn signals anything literally anything goes.
I do think that emissions testing should be required on all cars 15 years old and newer, but nothing other than emissions.

Here they check blinkers, horn, I think they check headlights and no cracked windsheild. Some parishes have to plug into OBDII

Default Florida sez... "Move over Texas"

-In FLA. there are no inspections of any kind. You CAN have limo grade dark tinted windows (to a point) and apparently you can ride as low as you like.

-NO helmet laws for motorcycles, tail pipes as loud as thunder...

-You CAN shoot someone on your property (including your car), but you must be "justified in the use of deadly force only if he or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony." .....

-AND I'll be wearing a t shirt and shorts outside this weekend...

I also have noticed you don't need a pulse or functioning brain cells to operate a motor vehicle here but that's another issue.

Yea Florida

Notice how I went from Mud Flaps to blasting bad guys... gotta love espresso in the morning
