Default Muffler Dragging

Hi All,

I'm back again with yet another issue.. I was driving yesterday and all of a sudden my Disco started sounding like a race car. I got back home and looked under the truck and the muffler is broken off on one side and hanging within 3 - 4 inches of the ground.

I have attached a picture. I'm so discouraged...

I don't want to use up a AAA tow if I don't have to so any ideas on if this looks repairable by a welding shop or does it look like I will have to get a new muffler? And any suggestions on where to take it?

Also, is there anything heat-resistant that I can use to pick it up to make sure it clears the ground so I can drive it in or is that a no no? LOL.. Thanks!

AGAIN!?!

Boy...... does that look familiar.

I welded mine. You can try a muffler shop, bat your eyes often and hold a tissue near to keep your eyes dry, I'm sure they'll jump through flaming hoops to get you back in shape....... sexist bastard I am.

LOL that's funny! I have a few welding shops that are closer in proximity than the muffler shops so do you think I should try one of them first to see if it can be welded or does it look like it broke off too close to the muffler for welding to be effective?

Um yeah but you could carry it with you like a Pomeranian. To pull up the exhaust use a coat hanger around the muffler.... uh or two. 6 feet, probably don't need to fake snifle then, just cast a shadow and they'll get the hint.
