Default My $4 seat fix

Been a long time since I posted anything. My 95 has been running like a charm but I finally got sick of sitting in a hole. Rather than trudge up my old post I decided to just make a new one. I know.. server space and blah blah blah..

I actually bought new foam as well but this could be done with existing foam. I bought a $4 spool of parachord on amazon and just took my seat apart and spooled the cord between the metal rails keeping slight tension on it the whole time. Total time of repair was about 1 hour including unbolting the siezed nuts and bolts which held my seat to the body and going to home depot to get new galvanized hardware for the seat.

I can no longer see the traffic lights.

Good idea. That paracord will probably last longer than your disco haha.

Yea pretty much anything you can span the seat with that has a little stretch will work.

HA!! Great work.. that has been on my list for a while now.. Actually I am so lazy, swapping the seats was actually my plan.. Perhaps when it gets a bit cooler I will give it a go.

With enough string you can fix just about anything... I am a carpenter and years ago I broke my framing hammer handle, not completely, just cracked it enough that if I used it much more it would have failed completely. I needed to make it through the day as I did not have another handle handy. I wrapped the handle VERY TIGHTLY in nylon string, from the head about halfway down the handle and tied it off very well. That handle lasted for months, possibly years (its been a while) before I managed to break it.

I pulled a couple of good supports from passenger seats in the pick-n-pull, and popped one into my driver's seat. The guy didn't know what to charge me, so I got two for $5 (I probably paid too much).
