I live in Taiwan and I am pretty sure it is a 3.9 since all of the documentations have 3900cc written on them and no one swapped my engine. There were two types of D1 in Taiwan which was 3.9 V8i and 2.0 TDI.

that is a 14cux setup.. I would swap out the rotor and maybe a new cap.
Sam, thanks for the photo. It looks just like my '94. Does your truck have the Check Engine Light (CEL) illuminated? In North America these trucks have a code display under the passenger (right side) seat. The code will show if the CEL is on. It helps troubleshoot one fault at a time.
It’s directly above your oil drain plug. You might not see it because it has a grey cube-shaped shield over it. It’s tough to get too. Mine has yellow tape on the wires and the shield removed. Here’s a crappy pic of me pointing to it:
The CPS on the GEMS 4.0 is near the same spot as the photo from Ononomos. It detects pulses from a spikey steel ring that is attached to the flywheel. The sensor probe fits between the spikes, magnetic type sensor I suppose. Mine was bent and the wires intentionally shorted by the PO when I first got my 96. Replaced it during the rebuild.

I do not have the CEL illuminated. I don’t think I have ever seen CEL in this vehicle.
I don't see a CEL in the video you posted either. Mine shines briefly when I first turn the key before cranking. In your video, the engine sounds good after it starts, so it doesn't seem to be getting the signal to the coil. That could be caused by the CKP sensor, or a relay. Less likely, I think is the distributor amplifier or pickup inside the distributor or other ignition system components. Here's a paragraph from the manual: Troubleshoot Lucas ignition system
