Relax a little, a free scan is cheaper than $30 and neither Arc or myself are suggesting tossing parts at an unknown problem. Yes it’s a superb idea to know what the engine is doing “ live”. I was pulling your chain with the “ if I was to guess” shot, you almost begged me. I was grinning as I typed it. Gotcha!

Got! I still think it is easier to see what sensors are alive or dead with live data rather than reading symptoms.

Can you tell I have a lot of conviction about this?

Happy (upcoming) 4th!

So what you are saying is that I should only check the codes after throwing all kids of time, money and parts at it? 😁

You need beer. It’s the only way to be sure. Buy a six pack of beer, go outside and sit by the front right fender and just start talking. After about 20 or so minutes you’ll start to hear the little voice under the bonnet. That’s your truck responding. It wants to tell you what’s wrong and nobody ever just sits down and listens. Hey, it’s what I’m here for.

That sounds like the best advice yet 😁 Especially the part about the beer!

I've read that, in lieu of beer, vodka can be a suitable substitute in the warmer summer months and bourbon in the cooler fall/winter months.

If you live in So Cal., AZ, NM, TX, LA, MS, or GA tequila is fine all year long.

Trucks in Florida are as wacky as the population. No rhyme or reason there.

Can confirm on the Tequila in TX - makes it a lot easier to hear the voices...

Update for anyone interested. Went out to go to work Thursday and she refused to start. With no other vehicle to fall back on I had to bite the bullet and have her towed to a shop. Turns out the fuel pump went bad. The pump they sourced is $700. I said umm no I can get one cheaper so pulled up the Atlantic British web site and found one for $350. Gonna take a few days to get here but for half the cost I think I can live with that.
