Default Need input re: tires, fuel and tire rack

97 Disco 5-spd stock.

What's the tallest and narrowest tire I can run making no mods and keeping stock wheels? Want an all terrain quality tire.

Anyone have any steel Nato wheels for sale reasonable? I would need at least 1 and if the price/trade is right I'd like 6. Got a Glock 45 I'd trade for some.

Disco has stock 1/2 rack on top w/stock tire mount on rear door.

Thinking of making/modifying top rack to carry two spares lying flat. Any ideas or thoughts about how to secure the two spares and not mess up the top or stock rack?

Travelling soon to New Mexico, Arizona, etc. Anticipate needing to carry extra fuel as well as water. My thought is to craft a rack that will mount to the existing tire mount on the back door.

My rack would mount 2 to 4 military water/fuel 5 gallon cans. Anyone seen anything like this? I need some design input ideas.

There are plenty of threads regarding tyre sizes. Use the search feature and be amazed.

Where are you at? Wheels are pretty heavy to ship. I don't have the NATO or Wolf wheel, but I do have a set of 5 factory steel wheels, like the spare you have now probably. (that would get you to 6). I also have a set plus 2 extras of new roversnorth proline lug nuts for steel wheels.

Buy a Yakima rack or a roof rack from Welcome to Rover Racks or the like.
But how in the hell are you going to lift the tires onto the roof?
