Default New d1 owner in eastern PA

Just saying hello with my new 95 Disco. 123k miles. Just finished the a essential head gasket job due to antifreeze shooting out on the passenger side. Can't wait to start the body work it needs from to many winters on the east coast.

Can't seem to post more than one picture with my iPad but I will get more soon!

Edit* More pictures

Looks to be in nice shape. I like the white on white steel wheels. When/if you get to paint you should checkout automotivetouchup.com. I had great success with a rattle can spray job and a little clear coat over it. It was easy.

So does everything work on your rig? What are your plans for it?

Well the outside looks nice, but around the shock towers under the hood are pretty rusty, and when you open the drivers side door under the little plastic cover on the floor, well, theres no floor under there. I just can't wait to take up the carpet and have a look!

If it gets painted ( which I would love to paint it red) it will get some professionally, my dad has been doing body work for over 30 years

I havent driven it much yet after the head gasket job, but my dad drove it and said it was driving great, everything seems to shift smooth and act accordingly.

I have also been finding goodies on it, I found a $600 mallory distributor, it has bilsteins all around. and polyurethane in some of the joints. It also has 4 General Grabber AT2s with good tread.

since the heads are done, keep an eye on the temp gauge, halfway and above is overheating the gauge is crap you may want to have the rad rodded unless it is new so you don't kill the new gaskets

love the white wish mine was, sounds like you may be ahead of the curve, unfortunately you live in the north east lots of road salt eats these alive, expect a lot of bad rust through, below door striker on rear doors, bottom of the door pillars, passenger front wheel well (where the washer bottle and ecm are) pull up the rear cargo area carpet, lay under and look up at the rockers( hidden by plastic cover)

Make sure you down load the repair manual, " The Never Ending Story".

Everything your naming does have surface rust I am going to pull up the carpet very soon to see how rotted my floor is in the back.

I always here people talking about some kind of aftermarket temp gauge? Do you have one of them?

Well just an update, here is some pictures of it torn down to the block. This is the biggest undertaking my dad and myself have ever tried, we had big smirks on our faces when we put it back together and it actually started

one thing I would say is while it was apart you should have cleaned the rockers and pushrods etc to remove all that baked on oil sludge
