Default New day new problems....a bit worried about this one.

Hey all,
Seems like I'm on here all the time. Anyway, my newly resurrected disco has now developed a new problem-high idle. When she gets up to temp, she idles at about 1700 rpm. When she is cool, it's the normal 7-800. A few days previous after I got her back from the shop, I noticed a hose was not connected to what I believe is the stepper motor (Vacuum hose outlet on passenger side plenum) so I put it back together and all was well and normal. This all really started when the 100+ degree weather hit. Now she just wants to idle high any time she is up to temp. It's not jumpy, just totally constant. I plugged in my live feed obd scanner and was pulling a 21% load at idle and a 17% open TB. Guessing my TPS is on the way out but wanted to confirm. also, I had read somewhere that the VSS could have something to do with it although it reads normally on my OBD scanner. So that leaves me with TPS or TB also, read that I shouldn't drive it like this, is that true?? I really don't have much choice. I need to figure this out relatively quick so I can take her on a trip this weekend. Thanks again everyone-this is the most helpful forum I have ever been on!

Got a new TPS, all seems cherry at the moment. I'm going to take her for a drive and hopefully all is well.

That fixed it. She is about 8%. My cruise control even worked for a glorious 30 seconds, then cut out again....oh well!

did you need to do anything to reset the ecu to accept the new tps ?, or just bolt it on ?

It bolted on and went away immediately...I had driven it probably over 100 miles before I had realised there was an issue. I basically left the battery disconnected while I went to autozone and got the part. Also was shocked that the Duralast piece is made in the UK.
Sorry for the repeat question, I'd seen it around before but it left me with more questions than answers to be honest. New to the disco and it's all incredibly urgent to fix anything important mechanically right now...my other car done blowed up.

The ECU will "learn" the new TPS after a few drive cycles.
