The ladder looks great and is well-built. I slid the rail over the top of the door just to see how it looks. Installation will have to wait until I have a couple of free hours since the rear door panel needs to be removed to drill new holes. They provided bolts, lock nuts, and foam gaskets with the ladder. I'll have to drill the holes in the perfect spot since the mount is dangerously close to the door latch inset. Not much wiggle room since the license plate sits in the middle of the two mounting points.
This will also give me the opportunity to see if I can finally get the rear wiper motor to work.
Be careful w drilling hardware on the lower mount left side. That's where the mechanism is for your tailgate. A lot going on in that spot. I had the misfortune of putting a rivnut directly in the way of some linkage. Had to modify it later to get it to work.
I installed the ladder a few weeks ago. The hardest part was removing the panel on the rear door without breaking the clips or the mounting points on the panel. The mounting hole is near the edge, so I positioned the rear license plate as far to the passenger side as possible and drilled the hole for the mount. It's a sturdy ladder and it looks great.
It really is a gorgeous looking ladder, it looks solid. I cannot justify replacing my old school ladder at this time but if I did I know what I would be replacing it with!
