Default New Ultragauge installed andddd...

Well. After reading so much praise for the UG on here and other places I decided to buy one. Sooo I got it in and mounted it up and plugged her in. Went through the setup and either I have the most fuel efficient D1 on Earth, or something just. Ain't. Right. I'm showing instant mpg at 1700, avg at 975, and DTE around 21k. HALP!

I surfed multiple forums and tried UG's to no avail. Has anyone had such a gnarly off reading?!

Yes, all of us D1 owners are trying to find our gas leaks, because I average around 2000 MPG or something like that

Awww man, I have a stupid issue aanndddd im not as efficient as you!
Guessing no one uses that festure then? I mainly got it to monitor voltage and temp levels just worried now that it really isnt that accurate. The mph is off too if I remember correctly. Oh well just wanted to see what the knowledge base on that issue was.

My MPH is off by 5, I do not use the fuel mileage or oil change reminder, would be the greatest truck on planet with that mileage

Same as Tom, my mph is low by 5 on the UG, never bothered with any of the fuel consumption stuff because when I need gas, I need gas, no matter what some gauge numbers are telling me. I use it for real time coolant temp, throttle position, VSS, O2, mixture / trim, etc etc. And of course the all - important CEL clear ....

Right on, thanks guys. I purchased the UG for monitoring RT temps and such so its a non issue about the fuel. I wad just wondering if someone had been experiencing the same issue and bothered to do the manual calibration. Most of the write ups I looked at were from those eco milers or wtf ever they call themselves. Thanks again for the rrsponses.

Maybe CUpgt hit on it - there needs to be a decimal point in there. I never use it for fuel mileage either. It's too depressing to think about.

That may or may not be the case. I've seen some confusion surrounding the MPH issue. My trunk which has 235/r70 tires....
- Traveling ~70MPH, the speedometer in the truck is ~4-5MPH faster than a Garmin GPS.

I've read in various forums that the speedo in the truck is 'geared' for smaller tires as they would come from England and therefore the speedo is 'fast'.

Perhaps your UG is correct. Not sure what is fact and what is fiction.

Sorry for the thread drift on a relatively small issue.

The ug and GPS are correct, vss/speedo is of by 5 for the 235 tires

The speedo pulls from vss, ug pulls from ecm? Not sure why the value is lower/ correct it just is
