No more automatic courtesy lights !
Hello!
When opening a door no courtesy lights doesn’t switch on any more. They now only separately works when switching them each manually on the ceiling.
But when I leave the ignition key in the slot after shutting down the engine and all electricity, I can not leave the car -thus open a door- without the car still produces the tipical flashing warning sound. So I don’t think any of the 5 door contacts is faulty.
But where has I to start to resolve the problem ? Where under the facia -or side footwells ?- is located the culprit ?
Thanks for leading me by the right track (of investigation) !

Exploring electronics behind both kickpanels
Hello,
In
meantime I put away both kick panels. As you can see on the pictures there is at both sides a serie if three relays (2 yellow, 1 green). On the passenger side (left hand driving in Belgium) there’s a fourth relay also in yellow. What are they for ?
How can you detach those relays ? I didn’t dare to pull to hard.
I unscrewed the MFU but here the same problem : how to detach each connector without endommaging them ? The same for the black Lucas-relay on its front.
Both ground pins at both sides were unscrewed : all blinking metal without any trace of rust, but the same problem : I wasn’t able to detach the connector.
Also all the fuses on the MFU and both his satellites, and those on the fusebox in the engine bay are good (no trace of any rust or burning on each bridge)
Can somebody help me by answering my questions ? Thanks !
(all this just to restore the working of :
- the rear whiper
- the radio and
- the interior lights switching on/off automatically !!)

Spotless inside of MFU !
Hello,
Yesterday I successfully detached all the necessary connectors from the fuse board to take away the cover off from the MFU himself.
The inside was very clean, no signs of any rust or water ingress. Idem dito for the visible contacts on all the unplugged connectors, especial these on the back of the fuseboard.
I think it would be strange that such a clean spotless MFU should be the culprit ?
Has someone another idea ?
Thanks,
