no power and my exhaust is red hot
i have 1996 SE7 with 145000 miles on it and when its cold it runs like it is lean. i cant get more than 1800 rpm and the exhaust manifolds get red hot. after it warms up it seems to run good. check engine light flashes for a min. then stays on. when i run the code it is P01316, P01314. book doesnt tell me what that is. hope someone can help. thanks, Shawn
You could gut them and try using spark-plug antifoulers but I've heard mixed results with that approach. You could also use an O2 simulator or build your own. Plenty of ideas available from a Google search. All for off-road use, of course.
You need to figure out what is plugging your cats, though. Something else is wrong if that happens. Too much fuel in the exhaust from the engine running too rich is one possibility, or coolant in the exhaust which burns off at the cat leaving carbon deposits.

Yes figure out what's fouling your CATs even if you remove them. Unless you have emissions testing or inspections there's nothing to worry about. Just remove them and ignore the CEL, but scan for codes once in a while.
such a ghetto fix
