Default No Start- Inertia Switch?

Searches have pointed out that an intertia switch can cause some of the no start issues Im having. How do I know it is/is not activated. I pushed the button on it but it does not move more than few millimeters and that may just be the rubber. No click or anything.

You can unplug it and install a paper clip or jumper wire across the terminals on the plug, then try to start. Or you can check the continuity of the inertia switch with a meter to see if it is actually closed or stuck open
