Is It Normal To Use Oil?

Hi everyone, I have a daft and strange question for you all...
Is it normal for the 300TDI Engine to use a lot of oil when reved over 2,000RM?
My question is because mine does this, I was looking for a new engine as I thought mine was on its last legs, when 3 mechanics told me they are meant to use oil when the revs are over 2,000RPM because the 300TDI engine was designed to only be used on farms and potter about. This seems very odd to me and I don't believe Land Rover would make an Engine that burns oil deliberately, but after I did an experiment, this theory seems to be right?
I did a 15 minute trip at 60MPH (2,200RPM) and before I left I put the oil on the full mark on the dip stick. Once I completed the trip I parked up and left it for an hour. When I checked the oil sure enough it was on the empty mark.
I then topped it back up and did the exact same trip but at 50MPH (About 1,900RPM) And when I got home and left it for an hour, the oil was near enough still on the full mark...
Now, to me that theory is silly as any engine that uses oil isn't healthy, but is this true? Do they all use oil? Are they really meant to be only used at 2,000RPM and below?
I will point out my Turbo is fine, no oil gets past it. And there is no oil smoke at any time from the exhaust.
Any information will help me a lot, thanks

Thats total BS.
My bet is that your oil rings are sticking and at the high RPM more oil is getting past the rings than at lower RPM.
Find a miracle in a bottle for stuck piston rings, follow the directions and see if that fixes it.
There is no way the TDI was only meant to be ran under 2,000 revs, if that were the case they would not gear the truck high enough to go that fast.
I dont know what motor oil you are using but a actual diesel engine oil high a very high detergent oil and will clean as you drive.
