If it's 96 and up it's OBDII and yes you will get useful (to us) data from the app. You'll get codes and can then use this site to tell us what your problem is..... Land Rover OBD Trouble Codes ?

Will I only get trouble codes, though? Can I get all the cool mpg stats and stuff? Temps? That's what I want.

Most apps provide real time monitoring. I happen to use OBD Fusion on a iphone with a wifi dongle (iphone doesn't like Bluetooth). I've heard good things about the Torque app on Android via a Bluetooth connection as well.

Ha! not sure what happened there. I was gonna say that both types of dongles are available at Amazon and less than $20. Add $5 for the app and you've taken a step forward in maintenance, prevention, and diagnosis.
