I am having troubles with my disco 1994 3.9 v8 it flat while driving idles up and down at stand still and will cut out will restart straight away but you have to give a little gas to keep running feels like it's missing this all happens when warm. Truck has brand new dizzy and cap and coil. Have check dizzy and it is firing on number 1. Took plug 1 out rotored motor round till compression came up rotor arm on 1 fired motor up checked with timing light 6deg btc with advance pipe off. Any more ideas please

 

Three things about Lucus distributors that most miss, bearings, advance weights/springs and vacuum diaphragm. How many miles? You might need to rebuild the distributor or get a Davis Unified or GM HEI to replace it with. Idle is also effected by the MAF condition and the IAC and it's circuit needing attention/cleaning. The other thing that could be a problem is the fuel pump and it's inline filter. Those ideas should keep you pretty busy for awhile.......
