Official Discovery I MPG Thread
Hey all, I figured we could all share each others awful miles to the gallon here in one spot!
This week, with about 90% city driving, I calculated around 14.7 MPG. My Disco is completely stock.
Let's hear everybody elses MPG and share tips on how to boost it!

I had up until recently, bad o2's and bad exhaust 2" lift and a Saudi grill and was getting about 10-11 because it was running so rich from the o2. I replaced both upstream o2's, changed all my gear fluid. Took off the airbox trumpet and the jury is still out but I'm looking at maybe 15, 16 if I'm lucky. I'll update when I know.

Dealt no rationale behind it. Just a little more open, less restriction. You can hear it in the cabin under WOT for sure. Idk if it has anything to do with my mpg if at all I
Sure it's small. But it was part of the stuff I changed at the same time and all of it together is how I'm realizing better mpg so I figured I'd mention it all.

NO shenanigans...I got 24mpg highway when I first got my truck, that was my average for a 700 mile trip.
Windows up, cruise set at 65, tires at 40psi, a/c on...
Right now with my SD rack, ARB winch bumper (no winch yet) and more agressive tires I average 14-15 mpg as a daily driver, thats 80% expressway with the cruise set at no more than 65.

I'm getting about 11.5 - 12.5 on average. About 90% city driving. Stock size tires, 2" lift and a custom cat-back. I am debating on getting new O2 sensors. I would consistently have my CEL on for bad O2s but since I did my head gaskets about 3k miles ago I don't have any codes. It's about time for new tires too so I'm debating new tires, new O2s and maybe getting rid of the Disco all together. I like it but I'm getting tired of bad MPG and ABS issues. Plus I'm about to close on a new house that's about 6 miles further from work.
Anyway do you think new O2s would help my MPG a little bit? I bet the ones in there are original but the cost of new ones are ridiculous. I own alot of mustangs and camaros and my WJ so I'm use to having cheap parts.
