Default Oil Pump Repair

I saw an Oil Pump Repair kit on the D&D site that increases the volume pumped by 25 percent for 60 bucks. Forgive me for asking, but what is involved in doing an oil pump repair? Just looking ahead.............

Are there other things that it would make sense to replace while performing such a task?

How much beer do you need on hand to get started?

You will need a lot of beer, You have to drop the pan and remove the front cover. The oil pump is driven off the crank. I would suggest replacing the timing set and front main seal while everything is off.

Oh, and you are in the wrong section now.......

Our engines are not designed to run that high.
If you are concerned with your pressure, first go check it both cold and warm at idle and at 2000 RPM's
Iy you are above 10 pounds when hot at an idle and 50 pounds at 2000 RPM's, you are fine.

Mike thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

When did you separate the Disco section?

I'll have to get a guage on it and check it out further. Mine is making a little rattling noise like the recent one that wrote about an engine knock.

I get an occasional tapping then a rattle when I back off the throttle.
Just trying to learn more about when a noise is an indication of something wrong.

Thanks again, keep up the good work.

Check your pressures, then if they are good, pull the valve train down and look for wear on the rocker shaft, arms, push rods, lifter and cam surfaces.
