Default One last lift question

So I want to get a 2" lift on my disco 1. The guy from rovers north said that I need to get longer springs to accommodate the lift.y question is if I need to get shocks or not.

The longer springs IS the lift. You don't NEED to do anything. But running stock shocks on a lift will severely limit your down travel. I would recommend new longer shocks with the springs.

If all you are looking for is a 2" lift, do not worry about changing the mounts.
What sort and how hard a wheeling will you be do?
Don't buy your lift from them.
Have you looked for any specific lift kits yet?
And Yes, you will need new shocks
How tall a tire are you going to install?

You could, but the lowered front and rear mounts will probably cost you the same as some longer Terra Firma shocks.

sorry to be blunt but if you are doing any sort of lift do it right. get new shocks. i know its going to be a punch to the wallet but honestly i say just do it right and you will not have to go back later to fix a botch lift job.

Agreed. Going cheap f*ck hack doesn't pay.

i am new to land rovers but i was also looking at the lowered shock mounts to go with the 2" springs.
i like the idea that stock shocks will still fit "i can replace them at the local parts store" is there a bigger downside i am not seeing?

if you use your stock shock with any lift you will severely limit you down travel. your flex will be next to nothing. if you are doing a lift for the looks you shouldn't own a land rover. if you want something that looks good lifted that has no functionality lift a chevy truck with ifs. its pointless to lift ifs trucks. not trying to be rude but if you are lifting a land rover and going to run bigger tires you will lose mpg and stability just for a look. not worth it. lowered shock mounts is like a bandaid. it will fall off and leave you without anything.

again not to be rude or disrespectful but do it right the first time.

Nothing too advanced on the wheeling question just mud rocks and inclines. And where would be a good place to install them
