Well the old filter I took off was about 1/3 the size of the WIX filter I put on, looks like the PO took it to a quick lube place as I had to replace the oil drain plug too. The filter looks huge compared to the one I took off. Couldn't find the Fram XG in stock anywhere which is what I would have gone to.

This is the one I went with.

How ironic the guy with Rave links all through his signature can't find the information.. j/k

This is what I originally saw..

But after posting I also noticed this..

So it looks like a typical Land Rover description, clear as mud. I'm going to check the engine plate on my motor.. How many different compression ratio's are there for the same motor? Seems a bit odd.

Lol
Honestly Spike is the only one to ever mention much about using diesel oil, and that was in a private message. I've never come across any other conversations related to it. Afew members did ask me why I use diesel bit nothing more. I assumed it was a taboo or a less known technique.

Are you kidding me? You saying that tells me you've NEVER used the "SEARCH" function of this forum.

Go into the DII section and do a search for "Rotella" or "Which oil should I use" and you'll find (no joke) about 8,189,645,049 conversations about using some form of Rotella in the 4.0/4.6 motor.

Agreed. I'm new to rovers and these engines and even I knew to switch to Rotella on my first oil change just based on reading this forum.
