Default Paint Oxidation

I have been working on my paint over the last week and have performed the following:
1. 3M compand using orbital buffer with wool pad (did the truck twice)
2. Nu finish polish
3. Meg's wax
After these 3 steps it shaped up alot but still have oxidation on the roof and hood.

I then used TR-3 and got good results although I completed 4 rounds of polishing. Even with all this work the roof still has moderate oxidation, does anyone have any tricks or tips to give the roof one last path???

If you want to get the oxidation off fast you must wet sand with 1500 grit sand paper (at least the bad spots). be carefull not to sand threw the clear coat. Use a foam pad with 3M finesitt 3 (sorry dont have # with me) then wipe down with rag then wax........

PS. I never had any luck using wool pads there to course and scatch paint

I knew a guy in florida that bought old cars he would see sitting in people's yard. Bang on their door, low ball them. He got quite a few cheap that way.

He would detail and resale. He used cheap mayonaise to revitalize those oxidized paint jobs. The oils soak in and bring out the gloss real good. Might not smell as nice as Meg's wax or then again, I don't know Meg that well...................

I will say that mine was a dull grey when I got it. I have used everything out there to try to get the hood and roof to come back. Re-spraying is what I am down to now. The clear coat was not good on these, and it is dead. Even if you get it looking nice, it will bleed back through in a few months...

I had to go through a major buff every 5 months and it got to where I was burning through the clear. For all of my effort, I could have just sprayed it, which is what I am prepping for now...

Thanks guys, I have used peanut butter for the interior wood trim so mayo on the paint sounds good. Worst case I can make a mean sandwich....

My basic feeling is this: "Does the clearcoat really matter that much. Splatter some mud on it, you'll never notice it."
