Default Passenger seat trim removal?

Some what new to wrenching on the disco but I’ve been searching the threads and looking through the rave manual and I can’t seem to find how to get the black studs out to remove the side cover. Any help? Need to get my carpets up.

my passenger side carpet pad is soaked and still searching for the cause of that as well. AC drains cleared, no issues with headliner. Footwell and side well is dry up underneath. Puzzled

thanks for the replies

The water leak could be from the sunroof drains.

A trim removal tool looks like it would be the ticket for the clips

As Army Rover said, a Trim Removal Tool will help pop those black caps off easily; cheap and can be found at any Autozone or O'Reilly's locally.

As far as the wet carpet...it could be the heater core leaking as it looks like you have a D2:

I will pick one up and get to work popping them off.

It is a D1, 1995, but will it be the same process to check on the D1 as D2? Plus on 65xxx on the clock.

Does the wetness smell like coolant? If so, I'd be pretty sure it's the heater core leaking into the floorboard. The only other typical leaks would be from the sunroof drains (if you have a sunroof) or a windshield seal leak (do you still have the original windshield)?

No coolant smell, fairly odorless(less a slight musty smell as water sitting covered up smells). I poured water over the windscreen with no evidence of leaks. Same thing around the sunroof.

Got the mats pulled. Here’s what the damage looks like. Not sure if that says anything about where water could be coming from. It looks like one of the seams was leaking but it just doesn’t seem possible that it could completely saturate the mats. Worth treating the rust? It’s somewhat minor.

As far as the windshield goes it’s unsure of originality. It looks like it is. It’s a triplex. But no other markings.

you may have a leak from the adhesive not being applied correctly (seen this with both original and aftermarket windshields). I had a leak coming down the drivers side kickpanel after a windshield replacement.

Does the carpet smell like coolant?

No coolant smell. I had all the carpets pulled up and pads pulled out. Started raining today and there was an ever so slight trickle coming down on the passenger side but unable to see where on drivers side. I guess i just didn’t put enough water on it when I was testing
