Possible Knock Sensor Error Code?
Hello Good People,
A little over a month ago while removing the starter I bumped and broke the knock sensor. I have since replaced the starter (new) and the knock sensor(used) and soon after I am now getting a P1316 code. Before I bumped the sensor and before replacing the starter I had no error code or CEL. Right now the truck is running rough with only the P1316 code. Would this be related to the knock sensor?
Two years ago I did:
Reconditioned cylinder heads
Head Gaskets
New STI Plug Wires
Champion Spark Plugs
New Fuel Filter
Thanks

Having said that, I would’ve thought having a broken sensor would have thrown some kind of code, but it never did...I would think the engine should run rough if it’s minus one of its knock sensor because you’d think the engine would assume a worst conditions scenario and run differently.
The truck is running rough right now, and that knock sensor is the only thing I replaced while since the starter ordeal. Before it was running strong with no codes. I have always ran with at least 92 octane fuel.
Interesting that you drove without one and it never put out an error code.
Thanks for the response.

Could my faulty ignition switch be responsible for the P1316 code?
A couple of weeks ago I had a starting related issue that I thought was from the starter. It turned out to be the ignition switch. As a temp setup I connected a momentary switch to the starter and the battery and the truck fires right up with the key in the 2nd position.
Thanks

Wow, now I have amazingly created a cross thread and cannot get the knock sensor properly seated.
Can this be bypassed or what?
Picked up a screw from Homedept, will take a dremal or hacksaw and cut a slit into the screw, and than fit the screw into the truck with the hope of re-threading so the knock sensor can be properly seated.
Thanks

Hello Everyone,
I got the knock sensor seated in the truck but it is still running rough as in 30% to 40% power decline.
All the plug wires are all seated properly.
No vacuum leak.
What are your thoughts?
Could a bad ignition coil be responsible for power decline and the engine not starting before I connected the momentary switch to the starter?
Thanks
