Default Pre Purchase Help

I've found a few deals on Disco's in Dallas and Austin, I really wanna pull the trigger on one this weekend.

Anyone live in either of these places by chance, that can help out?

feel free to text 832-515-2520

I've never known anyone to pull the trigger on a Disco......it's usually the other way around.....

There is no such thing as a "deal" on a Disco.

Such a comforting reply =(

So, 114k on a D1 isn't alot of miles I gather, from reading countless threads. A '95 with a bad idle that can make a trip from Dallas to Houston without overheating is:

A) an anomaly
B) the start of many late night ratchet parties
C) avoid it like the plague
D) Perfect for a guy who just wants to carry his kayak to the beach

I'll be the one grinning.

If you are wise, find a Rover shop, not a dealer and pay an hour labor to have a mechanic who knows what to look for, don't do it your self.
After wards, plan on spending, if you do it your self, around $400 worth of maintance.

He's asking $1,500. Good ol boy who bought it to use on his deer lease but says it won't idle and he's replaced everything he knows to replace to solve the problem. Also has a few windows that won't roll down. These are two problems that shouldn't be too expensive judging by the technical section on here.

Second, he just replaced the radiator and brakes. He's tired of dropping $ into it and wants a jeep he said.

As long as the head gasket isn't blown I think I'm good.

Oh, and the tcase is stuck in 4 high.

I'm going to try and hit him with $1000 cash and a tank of gas.

Getting a running disco (1995 btw) for a grand with a straight body has to he pretty good deal. He gets a grand towards his jeep and I get a project...

sounds like typical D1 crap.

i think youre on the right track with $1000.

plan on spending a weekend replacing every fluid you can drain out of there.

although if it were my money id wait to find something that didnt appear to need work off the bat, and pay a bit more for it up front but... different strokes i guess.
