Random Stalling
Hello All
I need some advice about my 98' Disco. About 2 weeks after I bought it I hit a big bump driving about 10 mph and the vehicle stalled. Again last night (11-15-2010) while driving home the vehicle stalled again, but this time I was driving at highway speed.
Both times I coasted to a stop, turned the vehicle off and then started it back up again. There is not check engine light or anything to indicate that there was anything wrong with the vehicle. When I bought the vehicle, about 2 months ago, I took the vehicle into a specialty Indy Land Rover shop, who stated there was no errors and the vehicle was "Awesome shape."
So I was thinking it could be a faulty wire some place, bad ignition switch or some other electrical issue. I do not think that there is a mechanical issue, since there is no evidence of any. Well if anyone has any ideas I would be greatly appreciative for any help.
thanks

Where is the inertia switch located? I am sorry to ask a dumb question but I am new to the Rover world.

Make sure you download the RAVE manuals and start reading up on your vehicle. It will help you understand it a lot better. Also peruse this and various other Rover forums to gain the benefit of what other Discovery owners have encountered.
The inertia switch is there to turn off the fuel pump if/when you flip the vehicle over. If it is acting up, you can get inadvertant shut-off like that. It has a black rubber top you push down to reset.
