Odd question, does anyone know the differences between a range rover's engine bay and a discovery 1 engine bay? Are they the same size, depth etc? Assuming they are the same year, lets say 96...

 

Without measuring,just looking, size looks very close. Some of the components are in different spots in the RR.

 

So are you writing a book about Land Rover trivia "fun facts" or are you planning on swapping some parts?

 

If you are talking about the rr classic I think they are the same. Someone told me about putting the hood and fenders and grill from a classic on a wrecked disco, and I know the frames are the same.

 

No just research. I'm still looking at doing a diesel conversion, and have a solution for the RR that should work for the Disco if the engine compartments are the same size.

He does Diesel conversions on Disco's all day long and (when you can actually reach him) he is a wealth of knowledge. Best bet is to email him. You may want to check into Isuzu Diesels too ... just an opinion though.
