Default really need advice

hello, my truck has been having battery issues and i have gone through everything:

truck slow starts and is not starting to strand me without a jump box. I have replaced all battery cables and cleaned or ground all connections. cable to engine fuse box replaced to remove corrosion. there is no corrosion left anywhere. checked for parasitic draw and draw is 20ma. when running the battery shows 13.98 volts and at rest 12.16. Starting voltage drops to 7.8 volts if it starts and 5.8 if not. auto zone says the battery tests good and since its 1 in the morning im feelin like calling bulls**t on that. I feel that I have a faulty cell but then I thought I would lose 2v for every bad cell. I remember that the charge was 84 percent when they tested. Need advice please. You could idle for 1 hour and after rolling windows down and up one time with lights on it wont start. by wont start i mean very slow crank to click. after failure the vehichle is noticable drained if you turn on headlights the 2 position lights dim significantly and shows 12.16 v

Have you checked alternator fuse for draw? Mine did this. Alternator was testing good charging but had small draw. Turned out it had a short that still allowed it to charge but was draining battery at rest. IF you have draw at fuse, disconnect the power wire to alt then check the fuse, if no draw then alternator shorting out.

I would have someone beside autozone load test the battery, just about any shop has a load tester.
It is possible that you have a failing alternator, sometime a diodes can cut in and out.

what is your running voltage with everything on? wiper/heater/lights/radio etc.

Draw is 20ma when off.
I had a mechanic friend have me start it and he had an analog tester and it was dropping to red, he said it was bad but its so damn confusing to pass at auto zone in the truck.

Alternator has been replaced and is putting out the 13.98V consistently. I will test will everything on

You either have a high resistance connection point that you have not found and cleaned, or it sure sounds like your battery is crap, throw a known good one in there and see what happens.

I grasp at all straws possibly related to my own non-start problem. What does the term "draw" mean in this context"?

Battery did the trick, and now all cables and contact points are cleaned and treated!

Sorry just saw this if you check the alternator fuse w volt meter with everything off, and it reads an output, you have a parasitic draw usually a short in alternator
