Default Rear bumper replace

I smashed my rear bumper. Is there a good research on hold to replace it? It seems like only 2 bolts. Thanks guys.

If memory serves me its two per bots per side at the brackets. 15 or 17mm.

It's so easy a caveman could do it.

I actually think its one bolt per side/frame horn. Though it's been a while and I could be wrong.
Anyway, if the bumper is toast you may consider this. Use a hole saw and cut a hole from the outside right where the bolt goes into the frame horn. This will provide you easier access and the ability to get a socket on that bolt. Go slow and use penetrating oil and heat. I've had rusted bolts shear off before.

It is four bolts to take off the bumper, i just put my back on this weekend after some restoration.

It is two bolts per side, you have to take off both parking/turn lights in the bumper, and you will see the bolts in there. The bolts for them are probably shot, I broke both lights trying to take them out.

Mine were pretty rusted, but I think they were 16 or 17mm. One of them was actually a smaller head bolt, but that may have been swapped out at some point, or rusted to badly.

There are actually two ways of removing the bumper. One is the way the last poster mentioned, by removing the bumper tail lights and accessing the two bolts per side that secure the small mount to the bumper. The other is to go under the bumper and remove the bolts, one per side, that secure that same small mount to the frame rail.

I guess the question is which ones are rotted the least?

I thought about removing it that way when I went to take it apart, but those bolts your referring to were basically rotted into circles, so that was a no go.

If the tail lights are willing to come out in one piece, I prefer getting the bumper off that way. However, I think most people don't even know they can get the bumper off that way and deal with the condition of the single bolts under the bumper.
