Default Rebuilt engine throwing P1316, P1314, P1313

Hi all, forgive me for having to ask for help. I looked through many of the responses to these codes on this forum and haven't come up with a definitive result.

I just had the engine rebuilt and installed. It runs very well but has no power on hills and the check engine began flashing. It's parked now and the codes are P1316, P1314, and P1313.

Is it possible the cats are plugged and the new tight seal at the exhaust could be creating too much back pressure? It had bad emissions before and blue exhaust from worn rings which I figure have the cats plugged. The exhaust gaskets were also leaking as well but have been replaced and are tight.

Thanks in advance for your help. If there's any additional info needed let me know.

Cheers

Check spark plug gap, plug wires properly installed ans seated

Check wiring at crank sensor

Pull inspection cover front of trans and turn engine by hand (plugs out makes this easy) look for bent tabs for crank sensor
Iirc put a socket on big crank bolt front of engine and turn with a ratchet

Tabs bend back easy just be careful not to snap em off, then u screwed

I am betting you have bent tabs from sloppy mechanic , they bend easy and are in the way to bolt torque converter

Crank sensor sets spark advance, not working means no power, if cats were clogged engine would not go much over idle and cats will glow red hot after a few minutes

Also be sure the crank sensor is heat shielded

Thanks, I'll take a look at what you described. Do you think it's possible the cats are still fine after the blue oily smoke from the bad rings?

Cheers

It is possible once you get this straight the crap can burn off , but probable you will need cats and 4 o2 sensors, time will tell

Check what I said first since its free, and go from there

When you pull plugs see if one looks way different, if unsure lay out plugs marked for cylinder take pic

Thanks for your help my buddy. I'll get at this the weekend as it's dark when i get home from work during the week.

The rover does idle well and I can rev it up while it's in park. It doesn't feel as if it's not firing on all cylinders but I will check plugs and photograph if necessary. I'll do that before pulling inspection plate and looking at the tabs. I'll check rave for what the tabs look like.

Again thanks

IMO it will be the tabs or crank sensor related

Tom forgive my ignorance but after looking through the Rave manual, I can't seem to find any reference to the tabs you refer to. are they on the flywheel or somewhere else? I see the crank position sensor and I'm assuming the tabs will pass in front of the sensor to be read thus showing how fast the crank is spinning.

I was looking to find them and to see what position, with regards to being bent, they should be in.

Thanks again

On flywheel 2 rows pass on each side of the crank sensor
