Default Removing the spare tire carrier

What do you guys think? Does it lose the Rover-esc essence to it? The reason I was asking because I always hear the horrors of our spare tire carriers do to our rear doors and I finally purchased my TF 2" HD Lift. I'm ordering some tires from treadwright and I can't decide if I want 4 or 5.. I'm going with the 265/75/16s also.

Just lube the hinges regularly.

Extra weight on the door hinges.

Go with 5 and rotate it in/out.

Are you considering NO spare tire? I wouldn't recommend trying to hoist 75lbs onto your roof, either. Buy 5 and lube the hinges.
Also, check the Parts For Sale section for the tires you're looking for.

When I tried to remove my spare the nuts were rusted on and the studs tore away from the base, destroying what was left of it. So I removed it until the new one came. It did not look right without it.
