Default roof light wiring

How have you guys run the wires for the off road lights on the front and rear?

I cringe at the thought of drilling a hole in the roof. On other trucks I have run it through the wiper cowl and up the A pillars just to avoid it. Some guys don't care and just go for it.

Drill a hole through the roof. Use black RTV to seal.

Had mine routed up the Mantec snorkel tube to the roof rack. Ended up being a super clean install without drilling through the roof.

Good idea thanks. This way I can have the relays under the hood instead of in my ceiling which I am not there is room

How bout the rear lights? Gonna run them off a switch on the rear pillar

I actually had Lucky8 do the job for me, as well as a ton of other work like a new ARB bumper, VR10000# Winch & LED driving lights, Rear TerraFirma bumper, a Mantec Snorkel, and got all of the bits & pieces I installed over the past year or so working together so the Disco runs like new! They ran all of the switches from an extra switch pod I installed where the ash/coin tray was. They put the Blue Sea power distribution box next to the battery, and the relays for everything in the open space in front of the battery. Will get some pictures posted for you. The only issue they had was they couldn't use the (aesthetically pleasing) rear fog switches I wanted as they kept cutting off, so they just used the cruise control switches instead.

Isn't there a washer fluid nozzle in the rear? You could run the wires through that hole. Unless you really use the rear washer.

If your roof rails are gone you can use rubber hole plugs and then run wires through the plugs.

If not, I'd run wires up the A pillar, or drill a hole in the roof and install a water proof power connector.

Drill a hole.
Or run them up the A pillar on the inside. Cut a notch out of the metal where the door seal attaches to. Run the wires through the notch and reinstall the door seal.
