I stopped with the engine running to get out and pull a big limb out of our road after a storm last week and noticed that the running lights were on even though the light switch was off. Do these come on automatically if it is cloudy? Another Big Brother regulation or do I have a malfunction?

They did go off when I turned the ignition off.

 

They shouldn't be on unless some Canadian installed a DRL kit.
