Default Running super rich, bogging down, new to the community.

Hey guys, I've recently purchased a 95 disco 5spd. It was running great for a while and recently started to bog a little between 1k-3k. Also a major lack in power.... I replaced the plugs, wires, dizzy cap, and rotor. I also had a new muffler installed. Now, when the engine is cold, it runs a lot better, but when it gets to temp, the symptoms really show.

It also runs very rich. PIG RICH! Any idea's what could be causing this guys? I have searched and been piddling around the forum, It would be nice to get a for sure answer or someone who has experienced the same issues.

Thanks,
Woody

Mine hasnt run rich but on other trucks I always looked at the typical culprits. TPS was a big one on my Toyota. Ran really rich until I adjusted it correctly.
Another cause may be coolant temp sensor. That tells the computer when to "turn off the choke" so to speak when its warmed up.
Also be sure all oxygen sensors are functioning properly. They can mess with the mixture.

Im sure there is way more Rover specific possibilities. Do you have the RAVE manual?

I have the Hayne's manual, but it isn't too helpful in my situation.

Also, I am not throwing a CEL.

Download the Rave, it's the service manual. You might not be throwing a CEL but have you checked the codes under the passenger seat?

update!

I went to pull a part today and grabbed a TPS and MAF. I changed the tps and the truck is totally running better, but now I have a CEL. I'm gonna head to autozone tomorrow and have them scan it for me.

Anyone have a link on how to check the codes under the passenger seat like mentioned above?

It's OBDI, you cannot have it "scanned".

Mine did the same, turns out it was the Idle Air Control Valve needed a good cleaning. Mine would stall coming to a stop while driving... seemed to cough at startup... once I did that, issue went away

Good luck
