Default Securing Crankshaft Position Sensor Bracket

I cant remember removing anything from this threaded hole on the bottom of the block beneath the crank sensor bracket. (Red arrow in pictures)
Am I forgetting something?

Thinking of securing bracket with a dog point set screw

Just a wild guess but I'd say nothing bolted up in that hole, looks no different than the rest of the block grunge wise.

Just stating the obvious Sherlock..... So are you going to sneeze weld the CkPS bung back on? I checked the part number for a fresh blank and it's $129.95 from AB?!? WTF I say! Rimmer wasn't much cheaper and then there's the shipping cost. Least expensive besides pick n pull - https://www.shop4autoparts.net/parts...or-v8-err3693/ Now that you have it on the display pedestal what are your thoughts, still planning on just doing what needs immediate doing or....? You know of anyone with a Rangie GEMS 4.6?

Going to use the original bracket. I saw those prices also. Hell, if they don't want to sell me one just say so, don't have to be glute-sphincters about it.
Going to get it tigged up and use a dog point.
Never was seriously considering going gonzo with the 4.6 jazz on this mill. There are no cyl. ridges, bottom of tappets and cam lobes look good, no weird stuff in sump, mains weren't leaking (changing anyway).
Worst thing I saw was one of the rocker shafts had signs of wear. Drain was gummed up. The big leakers where the valve covers, p/s hoses, and weepy head gaskets. Long term goal is the LS 6L80e conversion.

Was kinda just tinkering on the 4.0 on the weekends a bit but that has changed. Right after mentioning in another thread, the other morning, about depending on a rover alone, the transmission in my Ranger decided to quit. That afternoon. So, yeah. Now I have to get it back together pretty quick. I'm on my third vehicle within two months. Not saying anything bad about my wonderful, stylish 1995 Buick Regal. No sir. Not one disparaging word.

Don't know anyone with a 4.6 GEMS. Can't say I know anyone around here that owns any old Rovers. Closest is a bar regular that recently bought herself a new Discovery Sport.

But right now, I must get to actual work. Checking clearance of the blades on a 1/4" x 6' shear.

1995 Buick Regal eh..... no doubt with the 3800. What year Ranger? I have a buddy at work that used to rebuild transmissions, he asked that question. Yep, I think your better off just getting it running right and taking care of bigger projects while deciding what to do. It ran ok before the bracket went south. I'm sitting here tallying up what a well built stroker would cost for the Heep, not gonna lie it's expensive with all the goodies.

'95 actually has a 3.1. I do know a lot about the Buick 3.8 though, especially the '86-'87s. Have a couple of those laying around.
Ranger is a '05. 5R55E, no R or D. Flashing O/D light. It'll go in 1 & 2.
Tomorrow is going to be an all day affair with Reginald. At least I have a shop to work on it in.

Had a Monte with the 3.1, wasn’t too bad. I could keep up with freeway traffic in Detroit every work day. I’ll relay the Ranger info. Good luck tomorrow.

I left in 07, worked for HP as a Unix Systems Administrator. No mystery now brother. I just started making close to what I used to, only took 11 years in the sticks.
