That sounds exactly like my story (card, hand written code). I'm hoping for the same good result.

Maybe your radio was a factory replacement or something? I'll have to read up on romoving the radio. It's not a real high priority right now though...

I found a random stick-it note with a 5 digit number. Amazingly it finally worked.

Not if they come over here they won't be.........although there isn't much market for radios with Cassette Players so I relinquish the podium back to you sir.

Thumbs up

Resolved!

I let it sit for a few hours this am with the power on and the key in ACC (battery charger plugged-in). I tried the code on the card first. Just a 'beep' but the word 'code' started flashing. That's different. So I let it sit for a while longer then tried the hand-written code and bingo, cassette tape starts wailing away (Police mix).

Overall the sound sucks but it is working! Thanks for all the help guys. At some point everything will be done and I will be forced to pop the heads for IH!!

I don't know about the D1, but my D2 and every other car I have ever seen has a 4 digit code for the radio.

The stock (original) radio in my D1 requires a five digit code.
