" yes ! that's the culprit.....such a seemingly innocent fastener....hardened and spring like....bwhahahaha "

I hate B$ parts like that! And of course to add insult to injury it looks like it's a special order (at least from RN) > E CLIP AUTO SHIFT LEVER, TYC100070 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts

Maybe make some calls Monday and hope to get lucky! Good Luck

I like the idea of having a second one of those in the glove box. My shifter wouldn't go into park so I could remove the key once so I pulled that apart and it went flying - luckily my truck was pretty clean so I found it again after a few minutes of searching.

Turns out my phone was between the console and shifter which is why the shifter wasn't seating correctly...

I had a friend that lost the clup while out on a trail. After watching him fight with it and try to rig it I found a spare clip and stuck it in the truck.

We used to call those "90 Mile Per Hour" clips, because generally when they "take off" they do so at 90 MPH, never to be seen again,,,LOL

Yes a spare is a good Idea....
