Default Shifter Illumination Unit

So on my 1998 the lights for illuminating the Shifter Illumination Unit went out. Is there an easy fix for this? Has anybody encountered this is in the past?

I may just go pull one later this week, but I'm hopeful it may as simple as a blown fuse, loose wire, etc.

fairly easy fix, do-able without major surgery. the top surround with the letters in it just snaps off/up ....you can get to the bulbs from there, I used GE194 bulbs in mine....they are a little too powerfull (hot) but they have been in there for a couple of years now with no issues........for more clearance to work with ...you can remove the shifter **** by popping out the cap and removing the circlip inside. I think the correct bulb is listed in the tech section, or Rovers North has a good list too

That's what I like to hear. I wonder how colored LED's would look...
