Mine does not have the moonroofs. My previous Disco did so I may miss them but I'll be adding a full rack so probably just as well that it doesn't have them.

Cheers.

It's been sitting there for 10yrs. Engine and trans are gone, some interior bits too, the clock is in my garage, the rest of the truck is there.

Ok, truck arrived yesterday (awesome) with some minor annoyances with the shipping process (added costs, delays) but it's here! Had to have it delivered to my office due to the delays so I left my other car at work and drove it home. Lotsa wind noise, I don't recall my previous Disco to be this noisy so I'll have to look at the sealing and such. I don't mind road/wind noise but this seemed a bit excessive.

Steering seems a little loose on center....can this be tightened up or no? On highway it's fine. Perhaps this is normal, I don't recall and all my other cars use r&p and are pretty tight.

Making a list of a a few things to take care of..........

1. Driver side seat adjuster is not fully functional
2. Need a new window switch surround piece, this one is pretty rough
3. Need seat covers...anyone got rec's for heavy canvas or nylon covers?
4. Has very little heat...wondering if it does not have a tstat installed, will check with PO.
5. Couple misc lights out.
6. Can't tell if rear defrost is working
7. Rear wiper seems to be not working, might be switch
8. Needs decent radio though factory unit works fine
9. Need new speedo surround, current one is loose, prolly some broken tabs/clips/something
10. Needs a good cleaning in and out (though I took it on a trail quickly so I added exterior mud)
11. Has some mild highway speed vibration....I think maybe tire imbalance, doesn't feel like driveline (and has new ujoints), will inspect/grease as appropriate
12. Needs stock interior rear view mirror, original is missing and replacement is cheesy
13. Rear tailgate door was sticky so I lubed it with some silicon spray...works better already but rattles slightly. I assume there's an adjustment I can do, will look into that.
14. Hood was fluttering at hwy speeds, adjusted the rubber stops but they're pretty soft, will find suitable replacements
15. Brakes seem a bit spongy and not too grabby. Will look at new pads/rotors/lines....any worthwhile upgrades here? I like good brakes (blame it on years of racing)
16. CEL is on due to either rear O2 sensor or bad cat (most likely). I plan to cut the cats out and run straight pipe in those sections. Gotta look into the positioning.
17. Need to determine what OME kit I have...truck rides pretty decent I must say, expected worse. But then my street cars (not my wife's) all have coilover set ups so perhaps it's a relative thing.

I'm also starting my maintenance list (picking and choosing from the '5 things' thready I started....there was a reason behind that). Got some greasing, adjusting, replacing, etc to do. I'm heading to Colorado today to do some skiing so won't get into anything til next week when I get back.

Best of all, my son when bonkers when I got home today. I had shown him pics of the truck but didn't tell him I bought it or that it was coming so he was all excited when I got home with it. He was climbing up the ladder, looking underneath, helping me with the hood bumper adjustment, door mech lubing, etc. I took him for a quick ride on a trail just down the road from us, he was smiling from ear to ear. He's just 8 so it's all very exciting for him. He'll be helping me with the maintenance, cleaning, upgrades, etc. Can't wait for our trip to da UP this summer, gonna be fun.

Cheers.

Roof rack = tons of wind noise.
Oversized tires makes loose steering.
Cabela's for the seat covers.
Make sure the hood is closed all the way, shipping company may have had it open for whatever reason.
Loose speedo fascia, 2 screws hold it on, bottom, lower steering wheel, check for missing bulbs to hide warning lamps.
No rear defrost and no rear wiper, BCU problem.
Prob worn pins on the cargo door, spare tire and anything else added to the door puts a ton of weight and wear on the hinges.
You ain't gonna find a good working OEM rearview mirror, you must go after market, non OEM or pay the big money to go OEM.
I went aftermarket with compass and temp, Caig's List for $100 brand new, had glass shop glue on new mount for $10.
Before you replace the O2's do a tune up.

There are some trails around here I want to hit but need someone to go with me.

Once the snow melts come on up.
I have no where special to go, just some two track's and unimproved roads in Allegan County.
Supposedly there are some great trails in the Allegan County Forest, but I have yet to find them.
I just bought a house, close first week of April so I will be busy moving for the next month or so, but after that I'm looking to get dirty.
I also plan on hitting Silver Lake Sand Dunes this summer.

Received UltraGauge and reset engine codes, they have not returned so far so I guess that's good. I'm looking for some decent weather to get at some of the other little annoying things. This truck is too big to fit in my garage (too tall), need to find some shop space closer than my current set up.

After the cooling system, or somewhat concurrently, I want to deal with my tire/wheel situation. I'm looking to replace the current 265/745 BFG's with 235/85 GY Duratracs. Also would like to go back to stock wheels mainly because I prefer the look. Lots to do still, just need a little good weather.

Cheers.

Have you gotten a chance to take a closer look at your driver side seat adjustment? I had thought my daughter broke mine! But one day I was messing around with the buttons and it started working again...

What I found is that when the seat is in the "too far forward/down" position, it doesn't seem to wanna raise up again. You might want to try pushing the aft/down button (where your butt sits) all the way down and then back up on the FORWARD/UP (front of seat where knees are). I was able to repeat the offending "malfunction".

Ah, good question and that reminds me, I did mess with it a bit. It seems to sorta work now, still not quite sure what's causing the intermittent behavior. I'm thinking part of it is that the switch itself is not well supported in the center console, one of the little clip/tabs is broken. I'm eager to start messing with things but I'm getting over what I think was acute bronchitis and it's been pretty cold here still....not motivated to be working outside. Soon I hope.......

Cheers.
