I also replaced the fuel pump assembly due to a cracked top, new fuel lines due to corroded old ones, new fuel filter as well.

With all that it got better and better with each change. Now it is actually "peppy", and even responsive especially after the EGR hoses and a new LR paper air filter.

What EGR are you talking about..we dont have EGR

The ones from the top of the vavle covers to the intake, whatever they are called.
Edit: PCV hoses, I guess.

I would start with a tune up and a air filter as well as tire pressure.
I run my tires at 35psi all the way around.

Okay I just drove my brother-in-laws 99 D1 with around the same miles and there is for sure something wrong with mine. His has a lot more power and its quieter. I replaced the fan clutch when I bought it but it still is running all the time. This may be were my power loss is coming from.

What fan clutch did you use?
Where did you get it from?
I originally replaced mine with a OEM one but they sent me a heavy duty fan clutch and my truck drank fuel like it was free.
I returned it and used the Chevy fan clutch from the tech section and no problems since.

Sorry I forgot to put that in the last post. It's the Hayden 2626 from Checker. It was only $54 with the bolts so I wont be made if I need to buy a different one.

I have no idea what that part number means.
Did you buy a Land Rover fan clutch? (I mean a fan clutch for a Land Rover?)
