Smoking Gun - Land Rover Myths Debunked!
What is the point? Either you are a Land Rover person with a Land Rover lifestyle or somebody wishing they could be a Rover person without the work and love of the vehicle. Had everything else, always miss having a Rover. Keeps self busy.
I definitely appreciate the axle housings and heavy hardware they put under the Discos of through 2004. Almost semi military-grade strength. Now if I could figure out how to get a "reasonably priced" Defender. ...nah, that aint gonna happen!

I've actually seen one or two sell for less, but this is about as cheap as you can get for one that is already here without winning the luck lottery.
Thanks for sharing the link. That's as low as I've seen one like that! Man those interiors are spartan! Engine is good, but someone must have put the steering wheel on the wrong side (might make me think I'm in the UK again). Wheelbase is little longer than I'm thinking, but I guess that could be shortened if the price was right.
I think my next rig to toy around with (not selling the Disco) is going to be a 97 Montero Limited SR. But probably not till next summer. But if I found the right Defender, who knows??

I actually wish mine was a 110. If it were, I'd be looking for a station wagon tub, middle row doors, etc.
The military certainly didn't order many creature comforts. I'm ok with it though, because 30 year old carpet would probably need replaced anyway. For me, I see my 90 as a good start to add all new interior. I've got rubber floor covering waiting for me to install it and maybe one of these days I'll buy some fancy new door cards for it. Roversnorth and irongoat both make some that would fit nicely on the two piece doors.
Mine is LHD so that is nice, but it does add a little to the initial purchase price, even for the military versions.
