Default Snap In Window Rollers

Hey guys so I'm confused on where these things go, I'm supposed to follow the control arm and attach it facing the screw or something? I found the old ones sitting in this metal bar underneath the window's glass. The metal piece had 2 screws, one on each side, and indented corners I assumed to keep the rollers in. Well here is a picture of where I placed one but I'm pretty sure it's the wrong location. Anyone want to help me out?

That is the rail you are looking at with the rail mounting bolt. You have inserted the roller on the rail mounting bolt. You will need to use needlenose pliers to bend up the rail indents and remove the rail mounting bolt to get the roller to go into the rail, then bend the indents back into place and re-insert the bolt. Slide the roller into the rail and snap it onto the stud. See the picture I provided on this link.https://landroverforums.com/forum/me...y2138-2684.jpg

If you need new rollers let me know. That one may be damaged now.

So the snap in I used is placed on the rail mounting bolt. I need to remove those? Both of them?

No, just remove 1 bolt and use pliers to pry up the end corners of the rail. You need to get the roller into the rail and currently the bolt and the indented corners will prevent you from doing so.

Once you remove the bolt and pry the corners up slightly, you can remove the old broken roller if it is still there. Then slide the new one in, and snap it onto the arm.

Exactly. Caleb-you were about 1/4 of the way there. Remove the rail bolt, bend the idents and slide the roller into the rail and onto the stud.

After I remove the bolt and unindent the corners, what is next? From your picture you have the roller snapped onto a bolt and arm of some kind. I looked at mine and I don't have that. I'll take pictures to show you.

Basically, all I have is a rail and 2 bolts. What do I need to connect the roller to? And how many do I use? You sent me 4 and said that I need 2 per window.

Make sure you have a motor and regulator. I recall you saying you found pieces of the old roller, so the regulator stud must be there. Slide the roller down the inside of the rail until you get to the stud. Snap-In the roller like the directions on the package.

Yeah I did it the next day sorry forgot to report back to you guys. I took pictures and I'll do a write up soon. Hey LRD2..two of yoru rollers basically failed and turned to mush. I squeezed two and they kinda just mashed into itself. The other 2 were fine that's why I was able to do the job. Thanks too

Yep yep so replaced two brake lines with some help from a mechanic friend. I don't EVER want to do that again. I'll just pay somebody for the other two haha. Drove it around great, holds pressure no leaks, and it's nice to have some "shine" on the bottom of the Rover instead of dirt and stuff haha. Now.. to tackle that rotoflex.. I've been eyeing that "5 month old rotoflex" thread and it sounds like some people have it easy *cough* danny *Cough as it takes him 10 minutes to drop the shaft and replace the coupler and others it's hell to mess with that bushing/flange/cylinder thing.
