I live in NC and would like to get my D1 restored to new condition. Are there any shops that specialize I Discoveries. Everyone I speak to seems only want to do defenders.

Doesn't sound like they'll restore for others but themselves, but they might know who does.

 

Sarek Autowerke, located in Virginia, isn't too far from you. They'll rebuild it or do whatever you want. Nice guys and seem to know what they're doing. I called them about a frame swap and have spoken with others who have had it done - they came highly recommended.

My friends at Austin Roverworks restore any LR from an old Series LR to RRC/D1 (currently restoring a RRC Great Divide Edition), or D2 (currently restoring an 02 Kalahari).

I've brought several D2's back from the dead myself for a few people.
