Default SRS unable to reset

Hello. After relacing a new battery the SRS warning LED remained illuminated. The local LR service was unable to reset the system, stating that it is likely that one of the two Instrument LEDs was probably faulty. They advised within the instrument componentry there is a second hidden LED, which is probably the issue. I have stripped down the Instrument Panel and there are two LEDs but nothing is hidden in the circuitry. On testing, both the exposed LEDs are OK and carry a current. What did appear after reassembling the Dashboard is the SAS LED has gone from a static 'ON' to a blinking mode. It seems my disassembled changed the circuit format somehow. Could someone out there please advise if I'm being advised correctly? Appreciated. Cheers Tony G.

You probably have a bad clockspring.
Best thing to do is to try and read the SRS faults first to make sure the ECU isn't detecting an issue in the system, then run the diag.
If it comes back fine, I'd move on to the clockspring behind the steering wheel.
