Default Instrument cluster backlight

Just had the instrument cluster back lights go out on my dad's 03' D2. Before I start digging, any smoking gun/Occum's razor explanations or fixes?

Thanks

Slap in 3 Sylvania Zevo 168/194 White LED's for the main instrument cluster back light and install the original green covers from the old incandescent 168/194 bulbs to keep the green color. That will be the last set of instrument cluster bulbs you'll have to install.

Now if you're talking about the back light for the Odometer you can also replace those with LED's as well from VLEDs.

I find it strange that they all failed at once. I know I just need to dig in, but was wondering if there was a simple explanation for this.

There is no illumination on the gauge cluster.

Does the rest of the dash light up? It "could" be a bad dimmer switch, or a bad fuse.

Zero light.

I doubt there is a separate fuse just for that. Anyways, I'm digging in tomorrow so I will report back.

Did you check the dimmer wheel on the left of the steering wheel? Could it have been bumped? I can spin mine all the way left and make the dash dark.

Yep like I said if you have zero dash lights including HVAC, switches, clock, radio then you need to replace/inspect the dimmer switch.
