starter
Then feel around with just the socket and get that in.
From there you have an idea of where things are and should be able to feel around to get the socket/ratchet onto the bolt.
Thank you guys, for jumping right on this and giving me the advice I needed to get this starter done.
I am not a mechanic, but I do have a decent set of craftsman tools a copy of RAVE and a large wealth of common sense knowledge from this forum. I have actually enjoyed fixing everything myself. It's almost if I fix it I can justify having a vehicle that everyone knows is a PITA.
I had a car guy come by today and hadn't seen the Rover in awhile. He said, "wholy crap that thing is 20 years old?! You have gotten the outside looking cherry!"
That made me smile and feel all this tinkering is worth it.
Now if it will stop breaking for a couple weeks I will take on rebuilding the suspension.

So you get the starter done?
